European Public Prosecutor´s Office EPPO

The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) is an independent prosecution authority of the European Union. Its task is to investigate and bring to court criminal offences going against the financial interests of the European Union. In addition, the EPPO harmonizes the prosecutorial practices among its participating member states.

The EPPO is directed by a central office located in Luxembourg, consisting of the European Chief Prosecutor and 24 European Prosecutors. In addition, European Delegated Prosecutors operate in each participating member state. These prosecutors act independently of national authorities.
